New (not so new) Year Resolution 20XX

Image
NYR 20XX I am not a ‘New Year Resolution’ (NYR) believer. Sick of minor heart-felt , common , and false, ‘beliefs’ just being said to say something across the years. ·        Job ·        Gym more ·        Get a lass When realistically, although they were true, to a broken / fractured mindset, the intent was hardly in line with the bollocks of a NYR! Firstly, the JOB . Well, as someone with I STILL BELIEVE a thoroughly paramount WORKING ETHIC and attitude; I can honestly say, that I have tried beyond belief. Now, my acceptance is that that has had to have changed due to medical reasons . Meh. Such is life. The GYM! Never a gym bunny to quote a phrase, I did attend a gym whenever I could within reason. Miami dreams? No! Fitness in-line with MS , yes. And age now a factor 😂 . COVID a different factor now anyway too! Singleton. 43 and single. No “aw”s there – not my search (no pun int...

Travelling on a bus- the Headphones Saga!

Image
Travelling on a bus- the Headphones Saga!  Going Having a trip booked, I took some time previously to download a few episodes (comedy and crime drama, you filthy sods!) to watch on the journey to kill the time.  Here's the however. In my wisdom I checked whether or not a certain tablet would connect with a certain pair of wireless headphones. That alone proved to be a waste of time itself! I should have trusted my instincts and actually manually tried it. Should have. S kipping (definitely no pun there) forward to the bus. I was all set up best I could to get on a bloody bus. I was told "yes", the tablet's Bluetooth was activated already so proceeded to switch on the headphones' Bluetooth too. A match! I pressed play on Line of Duty S1:E3! "What? Doesn't sound quite right…" I thought to myself. Lifted the earpieces off my lugs and said sound was direct from the tablet! No match made. A bad connection? I tried and tried, and could've 'connecte...

Coronavirus realisations? Its a positive!

Image
Coronavirus realisations? This is fun isn’t it? Hopefully I am not going to repeat my previous Coronavirus blog [ there! ], but sure there will be overlaps! What realisations am I on about then? This / these struck me very recently. The staying indoors more as we are supposed to – previously explained! – giving me more ' boring me time ’, giving positives? I am doing what I can the best for my physical and mental health, under ONE set of rules. MINE. I haven’t got to be anywhere at a certain time, do anything specifically, rest not-guiltily… Aye, sounds like they all go directly against the set of government COVID rules; but it doesn’t. Let me explain a bit. The statement that was said was to stay indoors , and remains overlying advice. So, I am ‘adhering’ mostly to this straight away. Fun? Well actually! For example, when I have the/some permitting energy I may attempt to do: Some kind of morning fitness – MS friendly YouTube mixture; like P...

Disabled supermarket rant!

Image
Disabled supermarkets rant! Corona2 I have just been to a supermarket for essential foodstuffs and was greeted with a long queue of shoppers adhering to the 2m rule. Fair enough. However. As someone who is legit disabled – MS as the big one – I cannot stand for 30+ minutes in a slow-moving queue. I wish I could. This I flagged with security at the front door, who were only doing their jobs, and they said no. That was respectively passed to the store manager who also said no. That is the ‘law’. OK with that. My gripe is the visibility of what differences there are for the ‘vulnerable’ in this affected Coronavirus society, i.e. those affected by whatever their ‘problems’ may be. The elderly seems to be covered well , with the “vulnerable” too. But. The times that are supposed to be available for them/us ARE NOT CLEAR. Hey, if I have missed this information and these slots, I’m sorry. Just haven’t seen or heard them. Rant over. #Staysafe

Coronavirus 2020

Image
Coronavirus The year is 2020. The world is facing a new challenge. Coronavirus . I say new as in history there, I think, has never had such a global challenge. We all know what its effects are leading to. Nut shell? No, not an actual nut shell (have recently seen Austin Powers though!), just in a double-metaphorical stance; obviously. Firstly, our (UK) Prime Minister has declared that MOST (key workers allowed) people must stay indoors and adhere to 4 rules to try and stop the spread of this bastard virus. It is killing a lot of people. §   Shopping for basic necessities such as food and medicine. Shopping trips should be as infrequent as possible §   One form of exercise a day such as a run, walk, or cycle. This should be done alone or only with people you live with §   Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person. This includes moving children under the age of 18 between their parents' homes, where applicable...
