The alphabet. Aphasia.

The alphabet. Aphasia.

MS, speech, distractions, topics awry. ADHD, topics jumping here and there all the time. Confusing. Been said that people struggle to keep up with me talk. Understanding, maintaining conversation interest.

#MS #ADHD.

I am Roger. Live and have lived with M f***ing S for possibly 28 years, or there or there abouts. Who knows in the #MS world, diagnosed 2001. Anyway, as much as I have accepted this to the best of my ability, I will always be sad that my working life finished in 2006. Aged 28. What a c**t. Something I never envisioned and definitely did not want to happen. Yes, sh1t happens, how we deal with the sh1t shapes how we move on. I am a volunteer, the rewards of which can be fantastic. Now and again, I am brought back to reality of within my MS world.

Without going too dipply-deeply into details of the neurological condition in question, it is fundamentally that the body’s own immune system attacks the body. Cheers!

[OK, the white blood cells see the myelin sheath - the protective layer around a nerve cell - as an enemy. As a result, some messages from the brain to whatever body part that should respond to the message, can get lost. The desired reaction is messed-up as a result. Any message about anything. The central nervous system (CNS) is the host. The 3 affected bodily organs that are the CNS drivers are the brain, optic nerve and the spine.]

Because MS affects nerves that send signals throughout the body, symptoms can be wide-ranging.
If you don't know me, to the normal vision without any medical knowledge, I may look like a 'normally functioning' human. However, on any closer inspection, I could look like I'm a drunk, sound audibly like a drunk, and then that an irritant and conversation could be as good as a nonsense that makes sense to ME. Obviously pain is invisible on any scale too.

Why am I writing this happy story? "MS, speech, distractions, topics awry. ADHD, topics jumping here and there all the time. Confusing. Been said that people struggle to keep up with. Understanding, maintaining conversation interest." For a few words.

Thoughts. Alphabet in this blog. Letters, envelopes, stamps, newsletter, football, Toon sponsors, petrol costs, weather, food, dogs, polar bears, Cambridge. All in a matter of seconds. So what comes out my mouth can be hard to keep up with as I know as unclearly as it can sound, I talk way too fast too. Meh.

BUT! I still function, totally annoyingly understanding as to why I am nowhere near at an employable level as much as I'd love to be.

Oh. Emotions. Another thing that can be affected by MS. I know it as well! Woo! My reason for the blog whinge anyway. Take it or not.
